In this video guitar lesson I’m going to show you the main riff and the chords to the song “Goin’ South” by Mick Taylor. This song appeared on Mick’s 1990 “Stranger in This Town” album and was a live track.
Mick Taylor is probably best known as a member of the Rolling Stones from 1969-1974. And played on the albums “Let it Bleed”, “Sticky Fingers” and “Exile on Main St.”.
Goin’ South by Mick Taylor – Main Riff
The main riff of “Goin’ South” uses hybrid picking. Hybrid picking is where you use your pick and fingers to play notes. In this case you will be using your pick to play notes on the 4th string, and your right hand 2nd finger to play the notes on the 2nd string.
