Are you ready to learn some H E double toothpick raising guitar chords? In this video guitar lesson I’m going to show you some evil sounding chords. These chord sounds are often found in hard rock and metal music.
(Video Guitar Lesson)
Evil Guitar Chord Charts
The evil guitar chords in this guitar lesson are really what are called “diminished chords”. In the riff that I was playing in the video guitar lesson I was basically playing the same chord shape at 3 different frets along with the open 6th string.
For you music theory buffs the first chord below is just a root and b5 (flat 5). 2 E’s and 2 Bb’s. So it’s an E diminished chord, but technically a full E diminished should also have a G note. But close enough for rock ‘n’ roll.
The 2nd chord below I call an E diminished 7th chord. We have an E, G and Db. That’s the root, b3 (flat 3) and bb7 (double flatted 7). It’s missing a Bb note that would also be in an E diminished 7th chord. But nothing to lose sleep over.
The 3rd chord is back to just having the root and b5, just higher on the neck.
Evil Guitar Chords Riff (Tablature)
Here is the guitar tablature for the evil chords riff that I was playing in the video guitar lesson. Be sure and palm mute all of the open 6th string notes.
Remember, only use these “evil guitar chords” for good.
