Dsus2, Dm, D, and Dsus4

Take a look a Dsus2, Dm, D, and Dsus4 below. This is a very easy way to see how these chords relate to each other.

 

 

 

 

 

E is the first string open, and the 2 of a Dsus2 chord.
F is a half step higher than the E or 2, and is the b3 of a Dm chord.
FX is up half step from F, and is the 3 of a D major chord.
G is up a half step from FX, and is the 4 in a Dsus4 chord.
