Major Scale (AKA Ionian Mode)

The major scale is the constant to which you will compare all other scales. So obviously this should be one of the first scales that you learn.

These scale charts are written from the same prospective that tablature is written. The bottom line is the 6th string (lowest sounding), and the top line is the 1st string (highest sounding). The numbers are the the fingers that you should use.

root = The root of the scale ( make sure you know where the roots are)
optional note = Optional notes that are below the root on the 5th string
