Tuning
the guitar with a pitch pipe
Or maybe I should say, not using a pitch pipe.
Before the days of electronic tuners, the pitch pipe was a very
common method for tuning the guitar. You would tune each of
your strings to the notes produced by blowing into the pitch
pipe. Using a pitch pipe is a cheap, but not very reliable method
of tuning. The tones produced can vary in pitch depending on
how hard you blow. If something inside the pitch pipe gets bent,
then you will again not have the note that you are looking for.

Cyberfret Dude's recommendation
is to choose another option.
