F (add 9) or F (add G) is a nice alternative
to a plain old F chord. You can also move this
chord anywhere on the neck since it does not have any
open strings. The root of the chord ( the letter name
) would be on the 4th string where the square is. Or if
you are less familiar with the names of he notes on the
4th string you could get the name of the chord from where
you see the R on the 6th string.
If you have big hands you could also play that note on
the 6th string with you thumb. You would also have to
dampen the 5th string with your thumb.
