Sequencing arpeggios can be one of the easiest and best ways to make your arpeggio sections more interesting.  By simply changing the patterns in which you are playing the strings and the arpeggios, you will create a new sound that will be much more interesting than if done so with standard patterns.

This lesson gives an example of this method.  With the focus chord (arpeggio) being D Minor, the progression is as follows:

Dm – F – Eb – Dm – F – Bb

Notice the pattern that is used.  A sequence for the Dm arpeggio is used while only playing a three-string arpeggio inversion.  Following that, five-string arpeggios are used played for all the other arpeggios that are used.  Sequences like this are used often as the contrast between the three-string and the five-string arpeggios fit nicely into almost any sequence.

Be sure to begin this arpeggio section slowly making sure that each note is sounding individually and with a clean sound.
