Guitar Arpeggios
Basic Major Arpeggios For Guitar

Major Guitar Arpeggios
root on the 6th string

As you play a guitar arpeggio that you need to use the same finger for 2 or more strings in a row, try to roll your finger from one string to the next. Don't barre your finger, or lift it up off the strings. This is difficult to do at first, but it will help you play much smoother.

Think of the form below as a variation of the one above. The only thing that is different is the note that was played on the 5th string with your 1st finger is now played on the 6th string with your 4th finger. This also shifts the whole position up one fret.

Be sure to roll your first finger from string to string on the 4th, 3rd and 2nd strings. The tendency is to just barre your first finger across all of the strings, but try to keep the notes separate.
