16th Grooves

As already mentioned, 16th grooves are the most important rhythm concerning funk/soul guitar

Here are some of my favorite grooves:

It’s important, NOT to play too busy…reduce the accents…

Sometimes you should even leave out the ghost notes.

In this case it’s important to stroke permanently up and down with your right hand, but simply don’t touch the stings. Try the just mentioned grooves this way.

A thing that you can often here is sliding in the chords…but pay attention to your right hand…if you slide, you have to strike over the strings without touching them, so that the movement of the right hands stays unchanged. Try this:
