Root on the 5th String
Major Barre Chords - Extra Help
Sometime the major barre chord with the root on the 5th strings gives some people a little more trouble. here are a few extra tips on how to have success with this barre chord form.
Here my hand is too low and my 3rd finger
is to straight. Therefore I can't get decent pressure
on my third finger, and I am going to end up playing the
1st string with my 3rd finger by accident.

| When you barre with your 3rd finger across the 4th, 3rd and 2nd strings
Keep your big knuckle bent forward, and your joint at the last segment of your finger bent back. |

| A common problem for a lot of people is that
they keep their thumb too high on the back of the neck Therefore
they can't stretch far enough between the 1st and 3rd fingers,
to keep the 3rd finger right next to the fret bar. |

| There are times when I will use my 4th finger
to barre across the 4th, 3rd, and 2nd strings. You could then
keep your thumb a little higher on the neck and still get
a good sound |
